Dr. Ben Smit

Dr Ben is the owner of Vets and Pets. He is very well experienced vet with previous experience with production animals, equines and even game animals. Over the last 10 years he has been focused on dogs and cats. He has a special interest in surgery and completed his honours degree in surgery. After working many years is other practises all over the country, he decided in 2021 to venture out on his own and that how Vets and Pets was born.

Jackie Prinsloo

Anyone familiar with the practise will know Jackie. She is ready to greet you with a friendly smile and joke. She loves interacting with our clients and their pets. Jackie has completed advanced nutrition training. Combined with her years of experience she can give you advise on your pet’s nutrition and health needs. Jackie especially loves big dogs and has two Rottweilers of her own.

Riana Bruwer

Riana is one of our front shop ladies that is ready to assist you with anything your pet needs. She has extensive knowledge and training not to mention the years of experience when it comes to nutritional needs of pets as well as diverse product knowledge. When you can’t find her in reception Riana is working hard behind the scenes to ensure our stock levels are up to date. She is an animal lover and has several of her own pets including cats, dogs and even fish.

Zhandre Mars

Zhandre is our head kennel assistant and the right hand of the practise. He has a natural repour with animals and his experienced, calm way of working puts them right at ease. You might also see Zhandre picking up your pet or dropping off food. He is an avid sport lover especially rugby and cricket.

Abigail Hendriks

Abigail is responsible for keeping the clinic clean and smelling good. She always has a smile on her face and sees the sunny side of life. Originally from Oudtshoorn she has been living in Worcester for several years with her young son.

Mejeanne Combrink

Mejeanne or MJ as most people know her is a certified veterinary physiotherapist. She has her own mobile clinic where she attends to horses. The other part of her time is spent at the clinic where she deals with all varieties of rehabilitation for injuries or surgeries in our dog and cat patients.
