Dr Ben is the owner of Vets and Pets. He is very well experienced vet with previous experience with production animals, equines and even game animals. Over the last 10 years he has focused on dogs and cats. He has a special interest in surgery and completed his honours degree in surgery. After working many years is other practises all over the country he decided in 2021 to venture out on his own and that is how Vets and Pets was born.
At VETS & PETS, we are here to support you and your pets every step of the way, with a warm, friendly approach that feels like family.
Our vets are available from Monday to Friday from 8h00 to 18h00 and Saturdays from 9h00 to 13h00. For your convenience and to give us enough time to spend quality time with you and your pet we encourage you to make an appointment with our clinic before you arrive.
In addition to dealing with routine vaccinations and general patient health we offer in-hospital and emergency care. After hour emergency services can be reached by calling our landline.
Not all our patients talk to us, although many try very hard. It’s for this reason that your vet may from time to time need the help of additional tests and procedures to find out what is wrong with Fluffy. Our clinic offers in-house ultrasound and digital radiographic services as well as blood analysis to enable us to accurately diagnose your pet. In addition, we have also forged relationships with other imaging partners to enable us to do higher levels of imaging like MRI and CT scans.

At Vets and Pets we know that not everyone is able to transport their pet to our clinic. This may be because of size, temperament, injury or even if you have a large number of animals.
Our van affectionately named “Toby” is ready to help make your life easier. Our experienced team of animal handlers will ensure that your pet’s trip to our clinic and back home is as smooth and stress free as possible.
Our vets are also able to do house calls. This can be done for sick animals or for routine treatments like vaccinations. If our vet is not able to sort your pet’s problem out at home, we will transport him to the clinic for further care.
Dental care is not just about having a fresh breath. Advancements in health care and nutrition over the last several years means that our pets are living much longer than ever before. This means that taking good care of your pet’s dental hygiene becomes very important.
Poor dental hygiene can adversely affect your pet’s health by predisposing them to heart valve infections (endocarditis), kidney and lung infections not to mention infection of the jawbone (osteomyelitis) which, in severe cases, can lead to weakening and even fracturing of the jaw.
We offer free dental assessments to determine what your pet needs to keep his/her mouth healthy. We cater for routine cleanings to complex dental treatment that may require surgical intervention.
As the world evolves so does our understanding of pet health. We all know about the benefits of physiotherapy and many of us have experienced its healing effects in our own bodies. Physiotherapy can accelerate healing, promote flexibility and restore normal function to the body. This is especially important in patients after surgery.
Stiffness and loss of function is a normal part of the aging process. This is also true for our pets. Physical massage with muscles stimulation, mobility and laser treatments help regain some of the function that your aged pet may have lost.
At Vets and Pets our senior pets hold a special place in our hearts. These guys and girls have been with you through thick and thin. They have been loyal friends that are ready to offer some encouragement or just a cuddle. We believe that senior pet care is often a very overlooked area of pet ownership.
We want to help you do the best for your senior pet by offering comprehensive senior wellness and mobility evaluations.
This consists of a comprehensive clinical examination where we pay particular attention to breed and age-related issues that we commonly see. This may include problems with eyesight, heart or bones and joints to name a few.
As part of this examination, we may suggest bloods tests, ultrasound scans and X-ray to help us have a more complete picture of your pet’s health.
We will give you great advice and guidance with regards to your pet’s chronic medication (if needed) or nutritional needs.
Our in-house physiotherapist is ready to work in conjunction with our vets to restore flexibility and mobility.
We offer patient pick-up services and can also deliver your pet food to your doorstep.
